I had a few sessions to attend today. Both were interesting. The first one was good though that made me rethink the objective of the research. I still tend to talk and think referring to my own experiences and therefore need to have my mind always open to other perspectives so what I do can be solid, logical and justifiable though as a matter of coursee that may well be biased in one way or another. I can't help that, can I?
The second one... good as the guy was open-minded. I like that kind of chap. This person has ideas and perspectives on things which are very different than mine. It's no good when the audience just take what the speaker says. We have got to be critical as no human being can always be right about what he says.
The difficult thing though is that personal experiences are something that you can't deny. What matters is how things are interpreted by the speaker and this depends on what you have seen, experienced and thought up until now. This applies to the audience as well.
Too much thinking is no good. I will try not to lose the critical link between myself and the rest of the world lived by people.
Ah, I got a box of Turkish apple tea from one of my fellow researchers... Cok guzel, meaning really tasty in Turkish!
