パキスタンのことについて。

パキスタンにはいつか、必ず行きたい。ずっと、強い親近感がある。パキスタンにAという親友がいて、彼とはずっと連絡を取り続けているのだけど、彼と会わなかったらそれほど強い関心は無かったと思う。最初は彼の英語の訛りが分かりにくかった。でも慣れて、とても良い友人に。何回か一緒に行ったパキスタン料理店、最高に美味い。また行きたい。ケバブは最高。カレーも最高！ナンも最高だ！！今でもカレーが大好きだ。

Aと最近メールでやり取りしていて、米国の話になった。いつもは軽い話題が多いけど、今回は結構まじめなやり取り。そしてそういう時には彼の知性が存分に堪能できる。すごい奴だ。そういう切り替えがサクッとできる奴は、すごい。下にちょっと引用。

I am not really surprised by what you informed me about the Japanese people and how they were so much inclined towards the US and Obama. This is not peculiar to Japan. It is the case with a huge number of countries. But I find it shameful that we make the US, as you said, a reference point in almost every matter. I always wonder whether it is modernization that we want or westernization/Americanization. People tend to confuse modernization with Westernization/Americanization. Why do people/US think that the American values are the best values and that unless they are planted in every country there cannot be any peace (read US hold) in the world. This is unnatural if we think the entire world can be Americanized since cultural, moral, religious variations are quite vivid. 

いつか必ずパキスタンに行きたい。パキスタンにはK2という山もある。下の写真。本場の料理をあれこれ食べてみたい。でもパキスタンの情勢が落ち着いてからだな。
