We hear a lot about the Olympics these days... it's really fun to watch the games! All the athletes deserve our respect if they win or not. The pre-event controversies and violence against the Chinese government made many of us suspect the event wouldn't go very well but so far nothing serious has happened!
The games though attract out attention so much that we hear very little about other things that are happening in the world. E.g. the military confrontation in Georgea. Russia is once again strong and ready to defend their spheres of influence in Eastern Europe. Mr Putin looks like he is still controling politics despite his current position as the country's prime minister, not president. Now that the US is moving into Georgea... The problem of DPRK also remains to be solved.
On a side note... I found these clips... believe or not!? I just leave it to the readers...! Have fun watching the games.
